LITHOPS PLANT LIST
Although this list is believed to be up to date it doesn't
guarantee to include all known cultivars, latest finds or
any recent changes in nomenclature.
( if you can acquire all of these you will be
the envy of most lithops growers anyway! )

The name "Lithops" is derived from
the Greek words "lithos"(stone-like)
and "ops" (eye or view).
lithops
L.optica cv. Rubra
"Mesembs" is the abbreviated name for the family of
plants to which Lithops belong. Many collectors also
grow other plants of the same family which are equally
fascinating and highly adapted to their habitat such as
Conophytum, Dinteranthus & Titanopsis amongst others.
The Mesemb Study Group caters for those with an
interest in these plants and is well worth joining (see the
links page for details).
